Random Stuff

I used to love watching Meet the Press on NBC every Sunday morning. I loved Tim Russert and think that David Gregory is kind of a tool, hopefully he'll get the hang of it. It's Sunday morning right now and he's annoying me.

I ran a 10K yesterday. When I came down the stairs this morning I thought I was going to break the hand rail because 90% of my weight was on it. I would recommend running a couple of times prior to entering a 10K. By the way, why does my neck and back hurt almost as much as my legs?

Well, this was an entry to warm up my blogging muscles so I'll cut it short so I don't regret it tomorrow (coming down the stairs). We're doing well. Erin is as busy as ever and seems to be making good progress on her Master's thesis. In 9 days we will have been dating for 3 years. Crazy huh? I'm making a goal to blog again this Spring.

I miss Russert, too! I haven't watched "Meet the Press" more than once since he passed away. Difficult shoes to fill, for sure. He's a good writer, too; have you read any of his books?

Sorry about the running thing, Joel -- -really! :) As I mentioned to you lovingly over the phone - - - -That's pretty dumb! But Erin loves you for your suppport to her cause, I'm sure. You'll heal, and it will be a great catalyst to get back in running shape, I'm sure! See you at the Mesa Falls Half-marathon (or marathon, if you'd prefer) in August!

Love you lots.

I'm glad to see you have warmed up your blogging muscles. We like to hear from you. How about continuing to get in shape and join Glen and us in running the Bolder Bouler? I live in constant pain from lifting weights, walking with my Nordic poles and Messah Tribe walking shoes, and playing racquetball.

I learned how to prevent neck and back pain from an expert. Be sure to hold your head erect when you move about, use the back of neck rest when you drive, and don't look down while using the computer. Most of us tend to bow our heads during many activities of the day and it leaves its pain behind.

I also miss Tim Russert; he was one of the best. We live in interesting news times and it would be nice to hear some objective knowledgable reporting.

Give regards to Erin. All is coming together very well for both of you.

Love, Dad

I love that..."maybe I'll start blogging in the spring". I've thought that about a lot of things. I can't believe you guys are hitting the 3 year mark...no wonder Erin is waiting for some serious commitment...haha. I'm looking forward to reading more about you in the spring time.

When are you going to buy that girl a ring bro? Dang! Maybe you can put that on your list of things to do this Spring. Just kidding... but really?! :)

You're welcome to join Kendi and I and run the Bolder Boulder this Memorial Day. I wimped out when everyone ran it as a family. I'm definitely not in the runner's mold, but I've been training the last couple of months and figure I need to finish something that I should have done years ago. But once I do that, I don't think I'll ever race more than 5K again. I ran a little over 5 miles on Saturday and I'm not kidding - my knees and ankles KILL! My knee started hurting after mile 1 and I pushed through it the rest of the way. But I limped around all yesterday. No problems with my back. I think I have good running posture, but Kendi and Megan mock my upright style.

By the way, from our family, who has run the Bolder Boulder?

Hey Joel! Good to have you back on the blogging circuit! I admire your guts for doing a 10K with no training! Hope that handrail holds up! Congratulations on three years with Erin. I think she's one in a million.

I did it twice - -not fast, but I made it - - and I know Steve ran.

Take it easy with the commitment stuff! Sheesh! I've ran the Boulder Boulder at least twice when I was around 9-11 years old. I'm pretty sure my best time was 10 minutes better than what I ran on Saturday, but I didn't think it was so bad for doing it cold turkey. My left knee currently locks out while I walk because of the damage I did and I was walking down the stairs sideways while flossing last night (no hand rail) and got going so fast I almost took a header down the stairs. My legs wouldn't stop my momentum. Erin laughed at me.

I ran it once...and got really lost. I remember running faster thinking that Dad was way ahead of me and turns out he wasn't. I hurt all over now when I run or exercise, its depressing.

I heard through the grape vine that this blog was updated. Here I am, better late than never.

I ran the Boulder Bolder 4 times, maybe 5? One of my favorite races.

Congrats on 3 years. Take it easy on the handrail.
